Moving Again :)

Today I went to yoga and actually moved my body for the first time in weeks. IT ROCKED! My back is a tad bit sore from all the movements, but I think it will go away quickly. The class was really really great and so was the instructor. I’m almost embarrassed to admit how much I loved all the yogi talking about growth and patience — really made me feel OK about the fact that I am injured and it is going to be a slow recovery to become the person I am training to be. I haven’t really written about this, because I like to act tough, but I have been going through a small existential crisis since my injury.

Anyway, I think I am going to try to make it a regular part of my training week. My hamstrings and my hip flexors have never felt as soft and fleshy as they did when I left the yoga studio today  (usually they feel like solid rocks… it’s gross actaully). Overall, I am really happy to have went and expect to go a lot more often. This was pretty much the best way to spend my lunch break, ever… and the view out the window at Abhaya Yoga is absolutely fantastic!

P.S. This shit was sooooooo much easier than when I used to do it before lifting!! Lifting weights makes everything else easier.

4/08/13 – Food Log

Breakfast: 

  • 2 eggs in olive oil
  • Coffee with cream
  • 32 oz water
  • Another 32 oz water at Yoga

Lunch:

  • 4oz smoked salmon
  • 2 cups spring mix
  • 1/4 of an avocado
  • 1 tbsp salsa
  • 32oz water

Dinner: 

  • 2 giant meatballs with mushroom gravy
  • 32 oz water

Snack:

  • Logs without ants. (2 stalks celery with cashew butter)
