Hot Toddy

Ugh! Will this cold ever go away?!?!!! OK, It’s really only been a few days but I very rarely get sick, and just can’t handle being in a constant state of sniffling and being separated from the gym for so long. Plus, my fucking head is throbbing, my nose is clogged, my eyes won’t stop watering, and it’s just fucking retarded how badly I feel like I need to sneeze (but it just won’t come!… not true, it comes, there is just always another one right around the corner).  Anyway, enough complaining… What am I doing about it? Drinking my pain away (like a fucking champion) Ughhhhhhhhhh!!!! CURE ME!

Disclaimer: I know this isn’t good for me… it’s just more fun than laying around being miserable.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 2 heaping teaspoons of loose  tea  or 4 teabags (whatever kind you’d like – Chamomile is nice!)
  • 2 tbsp ginger, chopped
  • 6 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • lemon cut into wedges
  • 6 stars of anise
  • 6 oz whiskey

Method

Boil the water in a large tea kettle. Steep the tea until it’s ready and remove from the pot. Add the honey, ginger, cardamom, and whiskey. Stir and let sit for a couple minutes so the flavors can seep in. Serve in mugs or glasses. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, star anise & lemon wedge.

  • 2 eggs, over hard in olive oil.
  • Parsley & Cilantro

Lunch:

  • ‘Proscuitto De Parma’ Salad:
    • 3 cups spring mix
    • Lots of Prosciutto
    • Lots of Parmesan cheese
    • Olive oil & Herbed Vinegar

Dinner:

  • 2 large steaming bowls of the amazing Chicken, Tomato & Root Veggie soup my husband made me ❤ What a sweetheart.
